Building Change, through TU Dublin, sponsored the All-Ireland Architecture Research Group (AIARG)’s 12th annual conference in April 2023. The AIARG conference explored the shifts required in architectural thinking to address climate change, through the theme ‘Not Too Late’ Design Thinking for Ecological Futures. The conference reached out to stakeholders to invite local and global perspectives on how architectural teaching, practice, research, and policy can address the urgent challenge of climate change.

The conference included diverse cross-sectoral support and speakers including Dublin City Council and Smart Dublin, as well as a much-anticipated climate-attentive remote keynote from Kiel Moe, FAAR, FAIA.  Conference themes included Integrated Teaching in Architectural Education; Landscapes, Farming and Food; Hope in a Time of Crisis; Innovative Pedagogies; The Ecological City, Smart Solutions; New Values; Adaptive Reuse and New Technologies, with a closing address by E. Geoghegan of TU Dublin and the Building Change project.
