EARTHWeek at UCD
The climate crisis makes the question of how we use the Earth’s resources central and critical to the future of architecture. UCD dedicated a week to exploring and understanding planetary resources from close up and far away, highlighting how the capacity to operate with resources in mind can be embedded in what we teach and how we teach.
Highlights of the week included:
- Lecture entitled Unbuilding by Kiel Moe.
- Staff and student workshops about earth construction with Laurens Bekemans and Nicolas Coeckelberghs of BC Materials, Becky Little of Rebearth and Féile Butler of Roots Architecture.
- Day-long symposium about changing practice and teaching related to resource conscious design.
- Other guests across the week included Daniel Bell of Atelier Luma and Rowland Keeble of Ebuki.
