The HEA organised a HCI Pillar 3 Networking Event on 20th November 2024. Each of the 24 HCI projects, partnerships of universities and enterprise around the county, presented their achievements under the auspices of the HCI Pillar 3 initiative.  Richard Gallery, project manager of Building Change, presented on behalf of our HCI project. His presentation emphasised what had been achieved in the project, in terms of studio pilots, critical needs analysis, and CPD. He highlighted the significant role of the student voice in the success of the project. As the HCI initiative draws to a close it is important to consider the project achievements and legacy, and in doing so he pointed to the legacy of the creation of a new, differently focussed, stream of architecture graduates. These graduates will bring the new knowledge, skills, and sustainable architecture focussed mindset inculcated through the work of Building Change to architecture practice in Ireland as they enter their professional practice.
