Kevin Busby
Lecturer / 3rd Year Coordinator, CCAE
After completing his BA (honours) in Architecture, Kevin spent ten years in London, working for architectural and interior design firms on commercial and housing projects, and completed his RIBA part III at the Polytechnic of North London School of Architecture.
He spent three years in Northern California as an Architect involved in higher education and bookstore projects around the Bay Area. He also directed Architectural services for a firm specializing in AutoCAD, working with architectural and interior design firms in San Francisco.
He has been living in Cork since 1997, working initially as a Senior Architect, involved in various commercial and education projects. After some part-time tuition he gained a full-time lecturing post at Cork Institute of Technology in 2002. He is currently the Year 3 Design Studio and Technology Studio coordinator on the BSc Architecture course at CCAE, a joint initiative between MTU and UCC.
In March 2023 Kevin submitted his PhD thesis to UCC on the topic of accessibility in new housing. The thesis was successfully defended and will hopefully be published in 2024.
